Setting up SmartFTP

Now you are probably wondering why am I telling you how to set it up? Well there are a few things you need to do in order to make the program useful to you. At the moment you probably have the program opened and a blank list with a few other things at the bottom including the log and transfer Queue.

In order to do anything at all you need to get the FTP address and user/pw from your Host. Once you have this, look at the top bar of SmartFTP.



You will need to locate this and put the information in the correct places. Afterwards click the green arrow which was next to the address. now you should have 2 lists. These two lists on the right are your site, they are all the files located on the server that have been uploaded to it. At the present time there is probably nothing there.

Next we need to make it possible to transfer files:

You will notice there is a folder icon with a magnifying glass. You need to click that. Now you are able to do anything you want (upload, download etc...)

Also, at this point you have about 4 lists of items. You will notice you are allowed to change the size of all of these lists.
