Why is it when I use a PHP include using the entire url (ex. http://etc....) it wont work and I get an error?

It will work if its in the same directory as the file you are tryin to get to show up on the pages. Simply put all the files you want to use the PHP include on in the same directory. (directory=folder).

Why can't I see my site? I get a blank page.

This could be for multipul reasons. You most likely have your index page i the wrong directory. Some hosts however make it different directories, mine is the main one (you just click on the pc and upload the file to the main one) another person I know of has the main directory as a folder, which is the same for all people under the 'neverendinganime.com' host plans. If you don't know which then you should contact your host. It is also possible the server may be down.

Why isn't my link working? I added the page and its the corect name and everything.

Chances are you didn't spell it EXACTLY the same. This means even the CasE of the letters in the file name. This also applies to directories (folders). If you name a folder CaT and then add a file named KittenS.php you better have it like this:
CaT/KittenS.php
for the link otherwise it wont work.

Why wont SmartFTP connect?

There are multipul possiblities. You're internet maybe down, the server your site is on maybe down, if its neither of these issues then try and figure out the error, they will give you a link wioth possible causes as to why it will not connect. If you cannot figure it out, contacting your host would be a good idea.

Why can't I get to a directory?
(ex. http://www.yoururl.com/cutenews/index.php)

If you are typing the url correctly and the spellings/case is correct, then its likely your host requieres you to link a different way. An example? Lets say you have these directories and anything under them in a sub folder.

1. CuteNews
   1. data
   2. inc
   3. rte
   4. skins
2. Site

Now, we have a updates.html page in the site folder, however when we try and get the cutenews file to show up using an url (like this: http://yoururl.com/cutenews/show_news.php) it doesn't work. So what are we gonna do?
It's simple enough, we need to tell it to go up a folder and then go to that directory. How would this look though? (../cutenews/show_news).

the ../ tells the server to go up one folder. If it says ../../ then its saying go up two folders.

Why is it my php pages I saved are not working on my host?

It is possible that you are saving it wrong. If you open notepad and automaticly save your document as like document.php it will be saved as document.php.txt making it a TEXT document not a PHP document. To fix this is simple. When you go to file -> saveas in notepad type in the file name .php. Under the name of the document there should be a drop down menu below it saying textfile (.txt), you need to change this to "all files" which you cna select in the drop down menu.
